Gan Zhi Year Table
用? (Use?)

Actually this might be a redundant function. This is because when the standard method which [Use 0=-1 year] & [Use year 1984] is altered, the Gan Zhi year & its corresponding Gregorian year will be completely different from the normal records of the year table we used to. Hence, unless you think that [Use 0=-1 year] & [Use year 1984] can not extrapolate the correct Gan Zhi year of a certain period of time, or else please do not use this altering function!
About [Use 0=-1 year] & [Use year 1984]
(1)Why [Use 0=-1 year]?
This is a way to manage the Gregorian's 0 year, i.e [0 year = 1 BC year]. Usually people are used to start counting from 1, they will say 1,2,3,..., but not 0,1,2,3,....Thus, applying this habit to the counting of year, people would naturally say year 1, year 2, year 3,..., and for those years that come before year 1, people would say year 1 BC, year 2 BC, year 3 BC,....But from (...,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,...)'s mathematics point of view, there is a number 0 that comes between -1 & 1, thus it is acceptable in mathematics to say that the particular year that come before year 1 is year 0. Of course, by means of the [rule of thumb], we can set [0 year = 1 BC year]. Hence the meaning of [Use 0=-1 year] is to tell people (or instruct the computer) to follow the [rule of thumb] which set [0 year = 1 BC year] when 0 year is encountered during any calculation. And naturally, it follows that [Use 0=0 year] means to set [0 year = 0 year].
(2)Why [Use year 1984]?
This is because 1984 is a Jia Zi year. Of course we can also use any year that is 1984 (+) or (-) mutiple 0f 60 (eg: 1984+60x1=2044, 1984-60x2=1864, 1984-60x10=1384) as a Jia Zi year.
(3)Why [Use 0=-1 year] & [Use year 1984] = Standard?
This is because by using these settings, the Gan Zhi year and its corresponding Gregorian year obtained are completely tally with the normal records of the year table (eg: Year Table for Various Chinese Emperor Period --- can be found in the appendix section of any major Chinese Dictionary) we used to. Furthermore, as [Use 0=-1 year] is in fact merely base on people's counting habit, thus it should be said that it is a standard by the [rule of thumb].
