President S R Nathan told Queen Elizabeth II:
Culturally, Singapore and Britain share a Common Language

There was nothing wrong with President's comment. He was mainly stating a fact that was not quite really presence during Queen Elizabeth II first visit to Singapore in 1972.

But, we are not building an English Singaporeans Singapore, therefore, besides forcing enforcing all Singaporeans to learn English and thus allow them to be influenced deeply by western cultures throughout their lives, we need to provide a Level Playing Field for our own cultures and languages to flourish and influence on our young too.

That is why we need to ensure our Bilingual Policy (Forcing all Singaporeans to learn English and their respective Ethnic Languages) is effective and protected by our Constitution.

A Singaporeans Singapore should mean, culturally, not only Singapore and Britain share a common language, but Singapore and India, Singapore and Indonesia as well as Malaysia, Singapore and China, will also share a common language (although these can only achieved through our Indian, Malay and Chinese citizens).

Hence, there will be equally nothing wrong if President S R Nathan tell the World that, culturally, Singapore share a common language with India, Indonesia, Malaysia and China.
